What is it
Aphrodite Gold is a long lasting injectable. The gel consists of natural atelocollagen and coated polymethylmetacrylate (PMMA) microbeads and is used for the lasting correction of lines and wrinkles.
For which wrinkles is it suited
Aphrodite Gold is suited for the treatment of:
- puppet lines around the nose
- drooping corners of the mouth
- horizontal chin folds and minor chin imperfections
- wrinkles in the thicker skin
- lip augmentation
- scars and other skin imperfections (acne)
How does it work
Aphrodite Gold is injected underneath the skin surface by a doctor using a very thin needle. The needle is moved gently back and forth according to the so-called 'tunneling’ technique, which creates tiny ducts. The ducts are filled with Aphrodite Gold. The injected collagen is then absorbed by the body and will stimulate the production of collagen. A very thin layer of connective tissue is formed around the PMMA beads occurring in the collagen but not absorbed by the body (encapsulation), which causes skin augmentation.

Longitudinal layers of tissue with wrinkle and Aphrodite Gold
This augmentation process takes approximately two months. The wrinkle will again be shortly visible a few weeks after the injection and will permanently disappear after approximately two to three months.
How long does a treatment take
An Aphrodite Gold treatment takes fifteen to thirty minutes on average. (of course, this depends on the number of wrinkles to be treated)
Does the treatment hurt
Generally, the treatment hardly causes any pain, but this differs depending on the area to be treated. For example, a lip treatment will cause more pain than a wrinkle treatment on the brow. Of course, you can always discuss with your doctor whether additional anaesthetics are required on top of the anaesthetic substance included in Aphrodite Gold.

What happens after the treatment
The skin may turn a little red after the treatment and be slightly swollen for two or three days. In time, the product may be noticeable, because the injected collagen has already been absorbed by the body, but the encapsulation process and the stimulation of new collagen production are not ready yet. This lasts until two to three months after the treatment. Afterwards, the skin will increasingly feel softer.
Is the treatment followed by a long recovery period
There is no need for a recovery period. Just take it easy for a day. What is important, however, is that you try to move your face muscles as little as possible for up to three days after the treatment. Strong facial expressions interfere with the encapsulation of injected PMMA beads, whereas the formation of connective tissue is essential to achieving nice results.
Is it safe
Over 10 years of experience and more than 250.000 treatments using similar technology have proven that the treatment is absolutely safe.
Specially trained doctors
Since the final result is only for a little part dependent on the product itself and depends to a far larger extent on the injection technique, it is of the utmost importance that the treatment is carried out correctly. For this purpose, the doctors using Aphrodite Gold receive special training in this injection technique. Moreover, it goes without saying that the utmost care is applied to the quality of the product.
Do wrinkles disappear immediately
Wrinkles disappear after the skin has been augmented as a result of connective tissue formation. The tissue needs time to develop. Hence, the required results will not be optimal until after a couple of months.
Is one treatment sufficient
In most cases, the best results require two treatments.
The doctor will inform you on this.
Do wrinkles disappear permanently
Aphrodite Gold is a long-lasting wrinkle filler. This means that the effect is visible for several years and does not disappear after a couple of months, as is the case with temporary implants. With temporary implants, the injected gel is slowly absorbed by the body, but with Aphrodite Gold, the PMMA beads are encapsulated for permanent results.
Obviously, the treatment does not put an end to the natural process of further wrinkle formation and skin ageing.
